Female Coders Workshop Day

Do you want to learn to program or try out a new programming language? Then the female coders workshop day is the right place for you – run by women for women*!

At the female coders workshop day, you can experience the world of programming, learn new programming languages and connect to like-minded people.
The mentors have prepared different workshops in three tracks for you: web development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, creating your own blog with WordPress and data science & analytics in Python or tensorflow.js.

The event is free of charge and will take place online.

Our main purpose is to connect women with technology and help them advance their skills in IT. At the female coders workshop day, our mentors will support you, answer all questions and provide you with all the help you need.

* women = all who identify (partly) as a woman

Fun with TensorflowJS [FULL – waiting list possible]

01:00 p.m. – 03:00 p.m.

In this session, we will play around with pre-trained machine learning models in tensorflow.js. Tensorflow.js is a machine learning library for JavaScript which offers some tasks out-of-the-box.

Among other things, we can recognize facial expressions, sense the mood of a given text, and interpret hand gestures.

A webcam is required for some of the exercises.
No machine learning experience necessary but knowledge in HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript would be beneficial.

We will use Visual Studio Code as our editor. If you can not install it you can use an online editor like Stackblitz.
In order to host your website, you will be required to create an account on GitHub.

Space Invaders [FULL – Waiting list possible]

01:00 p.m. – 03.00 p.m.

In this session, we will implement the well-known arcade game Space Invaders. We will follow  Ania Kubóws Youtube tutorial to build our own version of the game with plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Knowledge in HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript would be beneficial but is not required.
