Our third in-person session this year will be held at the **Wissensturm Linz**! But don’t worry if you are not based in Linz or are not comfortable meeting yet – we will enable you to join **remotely via Zoom** as well 🙂

In the guided session you’ll learn to use the game engine [Unity](https://unity.com/de). Unity is one of the most used game engines, especially by indie developers and mobile games.

We will create a straightforward 3D racing game, where the user has to avoid obstacles. By the end of the workshop, you will be familiar with the Unity editor and workflow, and you’ll know how to use C#-scripts for simple programming.

**Please install Unity before the study group:**

* Download and install the Unity Hub from [https://unity.com/download](https://unity.com/download)
* Open the Unity Hub and install the latest version from Unity 2020.3. Currently this is 2020.3.34f1. (No need to upgrade if you already have installed another version of 2020.3!)
* Keep the default values in the install dialog. We don’t need any additional modules.

The Link for participating via Zoom will be added a few days before the meetup.

For personal participation, you don’t have to follow the guided session and are welcome to work on any of our tutorials or your own project.

About our study groups: You can join our study groups if you are a woman, or identify as one, who would like to get into programming! Learn programming with HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Python/Java etc in a relaxed setting with other women. The study groups are free and no prior knowledge is required – you can also join only some courses and skip others – everybody will work at her own pace.
